HI ALL, SORRY I AM NEW TO THIS PLEASE BE PATIENT!

I HAVE A 1995 TOYOTA CELICA N REG GT (UK)

DUE TO A BROKEN ANKLE I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE, AND UNFORTUNATELY THE Battery WENT DEAD.

I HAVE TRIED TO START AFTER CHARGING, BUT HAVE HAD NO LUCK AS IT APPEARS THAT THE IMMOBILISER AND ALARM KEEP KICKING IN, UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE NEVER HAD A KEY FOB SO HAVE ONLY EVER OPENED AND STARTED THE CAR WITH THE ONE KEY I HAVE.

I HAVE DISCONNECTED THE Battery AND RECHARGED, AND AS I WRITE AM RECHARGING AGAIN JUST INCASE THE Battery IS LOW.

THE OWNERS MANUAL I HAVE SAYS THAT THE ALARM SYSTEM IS A TOYOTA 5000 THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM?

READING ON OTHER FORUMS I BELIEVE THAT THERE WAS A RESET SWITCH OR THE LIKE BEHIND THE GLOVEBOX, I HAVE TAKEN THE GLOVEBOX OFF, BUT I CAN NOT FIND IT, DONT REALLY NO WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR THO?

ANY IDEAS OF HOW I CAN GET PAST THE PROBLEM PLEASE GUYS??

DONT SHOUT!!!! ;)

The Toyota 5000 system is no longer made and you cannot buy any spares for it. When the Battery went dead or low on voltage, I'm afraid that unit would fail and you would need to replace it. Best to remove it altogether now and get an alarm or immobiliser locally. Don't waste your time trying to find spares for it, bin it!

Thankyou for your reply, sorry about the shout  !

I am not worried about the alarm or immobiliser working particularly, just would like to be able to start it, so loosing the system altogether isn't a problem.

Is there an easy way to disable the system or bypassing it, or will I require an auto electrician to carry out the work, thanks Mike.

Slight update, Ive just managed to turn her over, but think she may be flooded, by putting the key in ignition 1st turning to on and then reconnecting the Battery seemed to reset the system, fingers crossed!

Well if it does work good luck, we changed hundreds of those when the Battery went dead, the unit would just die under flat Battery conditions and there was nothing you could do with them. They were made by Scorpion in Ireland who went bust in the 90's sometime.

Not sure if it did work, after a few failed attempts winding over, went back and she started 1st time using the same method, after turing off was straight back to the same scenario, do you know if the immobiliser controls the fuel pump? I'm hoping to get an ex rac man to sort out the problem, apparently has had to deal with thousands of Scorpions, thanks for your help again, was nice to hear her purring again, even if it was only for a few minutes!
