Is your new Auris revving fast when stationary or stalling when your about to pull away???

Is it making you look like a learner driver???

I know someone with this problem, is there anybody else out there that has this problem???

Toyota say it is a build up of emmisions and the engine is burning them off!!

Please get back to me if you know anything.

Is it only doing it from start up. Once engine is warmed up the idle should settle. Its to get the engine up to running temp as quick as possible in order for the emmisions control to work quicker.

Just out of interest, does the car spend most of it's time in slow traffic or does it get a good high speed run now and again ?

No, it gets a good run on most days. The director of our local dealer took it out for a spin and thought it was'nt right.

Sugested a Toyota specialist look at it and he said thats how they are made now!! This is crap because the demo does'nt do it!!!

If you dont feel its right then get it back into the dealer and make a point of demonstrating whats happening so they can see your issues. Let us know how you get on.

I agree... go back, keep calm :)

You say local dealer looked at it... are they a Toyota main dealer ?? and suggested you take it to a specialist ?? or do you mean a specialist from Toyota look at it ?

If the demo's don't have this issue and yours does ask again why... then ask for the dealer (yes we can tell you :) but it's better you ask) for contact details for customer care and say that you are not satisfied. Put the complaint in writing with a copy to the dealer principal.

Hi, Yes it's a toyota main dealer and after many complaints, the director of the dealership who knows my dad from many years of buying toyota's from him, took it out for a drive and felt it was'nt right. He arranged for a toyota specialist to have a look who travels the country, and said about a handfull of cars have had this problem and its the engine management that is burning off excess emissions, and there is nothing they can do about it!!!!
