Problem With Paintwork

I have a 2006 Avensis 2.2D T-Spirit in Silver and after washing the car last weekend noticed that the bonnet, tops of the wings, front bumper and the panel above the drivers side doors running down to the rear quarter panel has gone from a shiny silver to a dull lifeless look.

I purchased the car secondhand, from Toyota dealer, when it was 2 years old, and it had been supagarded from new.

The car is cleaned regularly using supagard products or a jetwash shampoo, for my own jetwasher (either simoniz or Halfords own)

To look at it, it appears that the clearcoat has gone but there was no peeling.

Has anybody any ideas of what could be wong with it.

Do you have any pictures? Sounds as if it's the clear coat.... may have faded for some reason.
