My landcruiser 3.0 td 2001 model has the same fault code p1215 e.d.u. problem with e.c.u. . But when the check engine light comes on i switch ign off . Then restart then  problem dissapears for a  minute or 2 then on it comes again ,back in limp home mode again ,now this problem does not happen until the engine reaches normal working temp, any thing below this i can rev the balls out of it and its fine ,anyone out there got any ideas.further more i replaced the ecu and its still the same ,also  changed accelerator control sender ,still the same.even changed the maf sensor no change ..... helppppp.

hey guys. have this problem myself. i have a toyota  1jz-fse 2001 progres. have this issue upon further inspection i realised, 2 injectors are not firing. they both along with com line. show 10v at Key on engine off. while the rest of the injectors and com lines are at 0V or Ground. Its a short circuit somewhere upstream. Im guessing You just have to trace and or measure voltage and unplug sensors and or circuits one by one until you see the voltage drops. that should give you a clue as to which circuit is shorting. Also, you need wiring diagrams.
