Respray Or Viynl Wrap Aygo Which Colour?

Recommended Posts

Morning, New to this first post.

Bought a second hand Aygo for the missus from Arnold Clark, 20,000 miles 2006 reg for 3,500 (got him down from 4,288). Tidy inside looks like the person hasnt been too good at parking outside no dents just slight scratches and a fair bit of paint off one side of rear bumper.

Anyways it is that kinda fishy blue colour and the vvt-i model which dont mean much to me.

My mates a spraypainter and can do full respray for 1000 does this sound any good? Any1 had better?

Also looking into vinyl wrap but guy hasnt emailed back, any idea of rough cost?

Was thinking for white or matt black... any other suggestions?

Thanks

"Big no, no, Big no no" lol

You managed to get a discount, and then want to pay £1000 for a full respray?

Also depends on how well your friend resprays your car. I ve seen some awful reprays, but conversley some dam good jobs.

I ve been put off re-sprays, as my next door neighbour got his car reprayed and have to say with such poor laquer on his metallic paint, its all managed to flake off, and had to cost him again to repray.

My car also wae reprayed, and although after accident damage it was a one layer base coat, intead of the paint colour applied first, and then laquer. You could walk around the car and see the other side wasnt as "shiny" as it had no top layer of lacquer.

Covering car with Vynl? It can bubble, and can peel the paint off when you take the vynl off.

I d buy a car with a colour you like, rather than a respray.

I have to say £1000 sounds like a too good to be true offer...

I saw a red Capri, from 20 feet it looked stunning, and I walked up to it and it was shite. I asked the guy how much he paid for the respray and he had paid only £800. There was a very good reason for that....

You want to make sure you get someone who can do it properly. A good friend of mine has been doing resprays for 15 or so years and he is a god at it. You need to find someone who you can trust to do a good job. Don't be afraid to consider some of the higher prices.

Vinyl is a good option as it is cheap, on TPM there is someone who has a Celica in a full white wrap and it is an absolute stunner! Even up close I couldn't see the seam and the cut lines, don't think there were any! If you get it done properly then it won't bubble.

However, if you ever want to remove it you will have a problem with it peeling your paint off. It doesn't always go smoothly. And if you scratch the Vinyl, you can't just go to the garage, get them to rub it down and respray it, you have to get that whole panel re-wrapped all over again.

Right guys just some feedback. My mate is a qualifies spraypainter and works with mercedes prestiege and the job would be done at his work in his time with my paint (incase anyone from merc is looking). He done his missus a pink c class and it looked the <the spuds of lurrrrvve>s. Im an estate agent and sold his last house for free so he owes me. lol.

Any1 got any idea what the cost would be to get the full bumper resprayed by to fix the scratches (he wont do a small job)?

Thanks Again
