Hey all,

How much is a clutch (roughly) for 2.0 gx '94 3dr manual Rav?

Also, how much of a pain to replace?

Is it quite nice & easy or is it a B****h?

I payed about £125 I think when mine needed replacing (along with the DMF :wacko::wacko: ) this was about 4 years ago though.... and they can be a bit of a B***h to do.....IMHO :unsure:

It probably isn't very relevant for you but earlier this year I paid a local 4x4 indie about £500 to replace the clutch in our 4.2 petrol. I popped into the workshop a couple of times while he was doing it and it didn't look an easy job. He seemed to have to take a lot of the transmission to bits to get at it. If you are going to have a go at it yourself, I should hide the swear box.

Clutch swap on the 4.1 was an engine out job following the Toyota workshop manual.

however, I have seen it done in situ twice. I'd still budget for nearer £500. The T price was way more than that.

It is a tricky task to undo mountings; lower engine and tilt it and I think loosen off the front subframe. The guys at The Garage I use have become experts as I burn clutches up pretty quickly!! A 4 hour job was the last swap i think.

Ok cheers guys.......

driving it this morning the slip doesnt seem as bad....could it be a case of low transmission fluid or is the clutch adjustable?

sounds like a lot of grief for something i only intend to keep for a couple of months till i get inheritance & go shopping........

I dont do a lot of miles, & i am a fairly sensible driver (i think) so i should last me till then.....!

cheers all!

It might be that you've burned off some contamination but I doubt that it is fully cured. It isn't adjustable so you'll have to keep your fingers crossed. If you've got inheritance - count me in long lost brother
