See if you can get a foriegner done on the paint. Stay away from the insurance. Buy a scrapper off ebay or all the parts from a scrapper/findapart. Change the bonnet, bumper and whatever is lurking underneath (I obviously can't be sure but I would suggest the bumper stiffener and the radiator the slam panel and N'S wing - all bolt on parts. Take it to the body shop and get the paint done.

This what mine looks like with the bumper alone off - it is all superficial. You've got nothing to lose just take it all of and see what you have got. It would take you a weekend to sort that out.

 Why on earth have you taken your 2010 superb Rav to bits  Are you having a mental breakdown

or has Big Kev sent you a vat of the amber nectar :bangin::drunk: The mind boggles :wheelchair: Stew

It takes about half an hour on yours stewpot but this model has a stay bracket down the middle (you can see the holes) and the bolts are a !Removed! to get at. You can see they've shifted the horns to one side and the only way I could get at that stay was to get serious. Its a bonding thing stew - I just need to see ALL of my car!!!

Anchorman, make absolutely sure that those new horns are not contacting the A/C condensor. A fellow RAV owner here reported that one of his was barely touching the fins and over time the vibrations caused the horn to grind a pinhole in the condensor causing the refrigerant to leak out. He had to get the condensor replaced at great expense. The technician said they are very thin, like a beer can, so it doesn't take much. After his alert, I went out to visually inspect mine because I also had changed out those pathetic beep-beep horns. Wouldn't you know it, the nut holding one of the horns to the bracket had been rubbing against the fins! Luckily, no serious damage had been done, so I repositioned the horn and all was well. You might want to take a peek just to make sure.

You are probably all aware by now that I have only one pair of underpants. Let it be known that these are now similar to Ady's 4.2 thread herein....a possible write-off. Reason....I opened the photo of Anchorman's 2010 Rav.

Paricularly like the two wee piles of buts and nolts under each wheel arch. Little did we all know that he had actually bouight a 150bhp jigsaw puzzle !!!!

As for LH insinuation that I had sent him excisable liquor....that's like the cowboys giving the Sioux whisky....they're already bonkers, so don't encourage them....

Big Kev

Thanks for the very valid warning James but that way round they are well clear of any contact.

You've got to admire her taste stewy

Now BKs at it - yer all yeller.

Funilly enough anchorwoman doesn't bat an eyelid when she sees ma walking round with big pieces of RAV. She was conscripted to help me on and off with this one just to protect that precious Tidal Blue.

Dave. The bottom of the car looks eery like the Titanic with all the waxoyl formation underneath but I didn't get the spray gun out just there because I don't want a sticky residue anywhere near that cooler group. Maybe I'll brush a bit on if I take the bumper off again.

Yup, that's how I tackled mine when I did the horn mod. It was only a few months old and rust was starting to form around welds and box section ends. I know it is only on the surface but it does make me question quality control. Only ever experienced this on way older cars. Certainly didn't expect to see it on an almost new 20K vehicle
