2001 Verso Automatic on a 51 plate.

Difficult starting when cold and very low lumpy tickover - OK when warm and performance seems unaffected.

Local Toyota garage spent 1 hour on diagnostics and found there was a fault code registered. They want the car back for a further 2 hours diagnostics(@£83 an hour) to check voltages etc and then the fault could be anything up to a new ECU.

If it is relevant the fault appeared after the Battery had been changed.

Has anyone any ideas of possible fault please.

Sounds like : mixture enrichment not happening when engine is cold.

Obvious candidate: temperature sensor...

I assume it was tested?
