'04 Corolla S

Hi, guys!

I'm mostly addressing to those who own '04 (or '03) Corolla S. Do you guys have the same things on your cars or it's just me?

1. The engine clatters, it's noisy even on idle RPMs. At least, in comparison to '96 Honda Civic...

2. When the engine is cold, and I start it, it revvs up to 2000 RPM and stays there for like 3-5 minutes. I understand that it has to warm up, but what if I need to drive right away?

3. When driving on certain speeds on a road with small bumps, the car body is bouncing a little bit sometimes. Something wrong with suspension?

Thanks!

Hi Gor,

i own a 2004 Corolla Sportivo in Australia with only 500kms and it is a noisy little bugger. It drives alright but there are rattles here and tapping noises there. I am actually quite dissapointed :( but at least you know it is a new car and you've got Manufacturer's warranty. The quality on my corolla is only average and if you compare it to a Honda which i previously own (2000 Civic) and currently has an Acoord Euro and Jazz in my family, there is no comparison at all. The Hondas are so much better built with no cheap plastic anywhere and sound insulation is just great. I guess the newer batches of Corollas are built in Thailand and South Africa so the quality control might be slacker. Most Honda are built in Japan so no question about quality there.

But i mean Toyotas are still one of the most reliable manufacturers around and they are built down to a very affordable price as compared to Hondas. So the best bet is get it checked by Toyota.

Zee
