Hello from Germany. We relocated here from Camden, Maine, USA in July- my wife has a job at a high school on the local USArmy post. Her contractor shipped over our G20 Infiniti (Primera to you Brits, I'm an active poster on g20.net) which is getting a little worn-out looking. Been looking for a second car for her so I don't have to keep driving her to work if I want the car. Yesterday bought a 2002 Yaris Verso, which, according to reviews, Brits think is ugly, but we think is cute. As I do most of the maintenance and repair work on our cars, I looked for an FSM, found one on-line for a '99 which I believe should be the same for all practical purposes and in English, so I'm happy with that. Car looks like it would be easy to work on, one of the reasons I liked it. We have lots of owner manuals/maintenance records, etc. that came with the car, but all in Deutch (my de vocab limited to well under 100 words so far), so looking around for an owner manual in English.

So far, I've learned the Yaris/Echo was not imported to the USA until 2007, and the Yaris Verso has never been imported. So none of my US parts suppliers know anything about the car (we can get parts here directly from the US via USPS). So I'm looking to UK to help out here, as you've had the car for it's whole run and, for the most part, I can understand Brit English (What does "pin" mean? Is that like a link??).

First question to come up was wheel/tire size after I found out that Germany now requires either snow tires (tyres) or M & S (All Season?) in winter or you can pick up a fine. My reading so far indicates the wheel size is consistently the same across all Yaris-Verso model years (there's a Sticky here on that- what we call a locked info thread), and the OEM tire size is 175 65 14 T. It looks to be common practice here to get a second set of wheels with the snow tires mounted.

At any rate, looking forward to participating here. If anyone has a Primera and not checked out G20.net you should do so.

Welcome to the club  .I used to own a Primera until I bought the Corolla 3 months back and used to be on G20.net as well as NPOC and NissanPrimera.net.Great car for 4 years and regretfully sold.

Back to the Toyota,I can't help with the Yaris questions but if you can repost in the appropriate model section,I'm sure someone can help you. This section is really just for intros so your questions may not be seen by so many :)
