Lights are very hard to Photograph, especially at night. An entire car is even worse...

But I don't trust them; they might say they're road leagal, but I don't believe it....

Without E-type approval that's simply not possible...

Would be good to see the paid of LEDs. I ve sen some really cheap looking LEDs on some cars but the set in the photos look quite good.

I ve actually got 501 LEDs on the front of my car, and I ve NEVER been stopped by ANY of the police in Scotland in two different counties. Lothian, or Stratchlyde. Could be possible either the police are leaving it alone as its still "new" technology,a nd most cars had daytime running LEDs. Have to say some Audi LEDs are too !Removed! bright!

I dont think I ll put any LED strips on my car. Might look a bit boy racerish. Just thought about other peoples opinions

For me, you can instantly tell whether the LEDs are aftermarket/cheap. There are so many starting to crop up now, particularly favourable with boy racers and taxi drivers in tatty old Peugeot 406s! The illegal ones in particular have a slightly blue-ish tint to them, and they're not terribly bright - and look like miniature strip lights. You see people have tried to curve them every which way to fit with their normal headlights, too. The only 'proper' aftermarket ones I've seen are from Philips - these a legal, properly white, and quite small - similar sort of thing to the low-set LEDs on the VW Scirocco R. I must say I don't trust most of the LEDs on eBay - they all look like those thin dodgy ones, I just don't think they look right or help the car be seen. Either leave it, or go with the proper-looking Philips ones. They're probably more expensive, but then they're probably safer. And I don't really think they help much at the back anyway. Every new car has to have front DLRs from next year, too.... :)

Agree with Aygogummy. Thanks for your input, and most importantly your opinion. I havent managed to track down the Philip`s LED lights your describing.

I postyed for people thoughts and opinions because I m seeing a lot of cars with daytime running LEDs. Has any one seen the Audi LED lights? I mean who cant. Theyre !Removed! bright, but has anyone noticed when the driver puts the indicators on, the LEDS on one side dim! Ha ha!

Also seen the expensive Audis with the bluey LEDs, but the lower range cars have a yellowy "incandescent" light like normal filament lamps. Yuck!

The Audi-system dims to maken the contrast on the indicators higher.

And they can do so, since the LEDs are dual function: they work as DRL

when the lights are off and as soon as you turn ON your lights they

dim to the proper brightnes to be position/clearance lights.

AFAIK Hella even has an after market kit that does the exact

same thing. Expensive, but when mounted and connected

the right way 100% street legel in all of Europe...

They look incandescent since they ARE incandescent!
