We Need Mur Power Capin'

Hi,

Can anyone give me some advice please. I am about to purchase a new Hilux 2.5G here in Kuala lumpur (http://www.toyota.com.my/hilux/index.dot). The reasons for my choice are that the resale values are great and the servicing and parts are cheap by comparison an it's bulletproof. For those of you that don't know, cars here are super expensive and the pick ups are about half the price of a normal car (not Proton). I tried the Nissan Nivara which I liked but was more expensive for a lesser model and I have heard don't last very long with dodgey tranney issues.

The model I am interested in is a manual transmission because the automatic was so underpowered it's unbelievable. MT not being much better. This makes me very sad.

I have a few options

1. Buy the more powerful Navara and have it break down in 3 years. Hmmmm....No!

2. Buy a box from someone like Lindop and play it safe within tollerence.

Or

3. Go to these guys http://www.h-performance.com.my/Products_Power%20Lab.htm which just looks dangerous to me and the engine. Over stressed me thinks!

What's the deal with services and warrenties before this happens?

Any help asap would be great before I go and spend my baby's shoe money on it.

Thanks in advance

There is a lot of flowery marketing talk on the website, however

1: There is no mention of the warranty period

2: From the pictures, they use computer style connections and NOT automotive connections

3: No mention of price or how to pay or how to return/refund

4: Gains of 25 to 30% are probably exagerated, UP TO 25% is about the best you get, BHP is irellevent, you need to know the torque gains

and finally

I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt on this one, but as it's your first post, I feel you might be connected to the company concerned by linking directly to it

Hi Kingo thanks for the reply.

I know you are dubious about my post but trust me I think that the Malaysain company will kill my engine for fun. I have moved out here teaching with my family and we are not impressed with the cost of buying (hence the pickup) of cars out here. the price is 4000RM approx. 800 quid for the chipping.

If you can send me some info on your product, price shipping etc I would be happy to do business. Like I said it makes me sad the lack of ooomph.

I have read good things about lindop and just wanted someone to give me some good vibes.

Tom
