Hi all

anyone know if 17 inch wheels from a 2006 rav will fit on a 2002 rav which has 16 inch on at present

cheers

NOBBLES,

Can't answer your question direct, but sure somebody will be along shortly who can. Just a wee nod, which is certainly relevant up here in Scotlandshire....have you actually seen the price differentials on most decent tyres when you increase from 16" to 17" ??....smacks of tyre company cartels, but I would never put that in writing.....

Big Kev

Other thoughts: Unless the 17" tyres were lower profile would there be a speedo and milometer reading issue? Which brings us on to price...the lower the profile the higher the price. As I posted elsewhere recently I can by reasonable quality tyres at £65 a corner for the RAV but I have gone a bit pale at the replacemnent costs of the 225/60/18s da newer bus uses. Hey ho the price of progress and the fact that I am lucky enough to have 5 wheels to consider (soz - couldn't resist the pet hobby horse opportunity).

'Tis a damp, dark, misty and soggy day on Dartmoor. much like normal, really.

The wheels will fit and it makes very little difference to the speedo.

I have 18" wheels on both 1994 RAVs - with one running 225/40 x 18 giving a 10% over-estimate of speed. The other is more accurate running 245/45x18

(Must check the sizes to make sure).

The lower profile tyre is a Fawlken costing about £80.

In the good old days back in 1994, only Dunlop made the tyre size and the price was £200 a tyre!!

Hi Bothie,

How are you getting on with the Falkens? Wear and grip OK? I like that sort of price for an 18" tyre

Mike,

Bothy only does very short journeys - usually only 1/4 mile. He will no doubt give you a very good indication of their grip - but don't take any notice of his mileage/tyre ;)

Very true but I certainly should be able to get better mileage than him. Let's see. North of the border eh? Standing-starts during the day and still-standing starts after closing times.

Does anybody have normal road experience of them?
