Can You Check Your Sound System?

You aren't part of the Bowers & Wilkins team are you thumbsup.gif I see their trucks and roadies appear a lot next to my office on smith square and always wonder about their gigs and sound quality. I do like their home and studio speakers

LOL, no. I'll just say that I have been (and still am) professional in the live sound business for about thirty years. - But let's leave it there as I don't want to hijack your thread about the stereo hassles. :)

Forgive me if someone has mentioned this already but I just quickly skimmed through the thread. I DON'T have the JBL option and I too find that the sound level in the rear is not as loud as the front. Sometimes I've had customers want the radio on in the rear when I don't and I've turned the sound to the back and it just isn't as loud as the front. Is it to do with weak speakers in the rear or are they smaller?

I don't care too much as I sit in the front but thought I'd add my two penceworth.

The T3 only has 6 Speakers. 4 in the front, 2 in the back.

Might have something to do with it.

With the JBL option you get 8 Speakers.

Very interesting topic.

Both my wife and I had Gen 2 TSpirits with JBL in and noticed that the rears where quieter, but no by much.

My wife has just picked up a 10th Anniversary, 11 plate with JBL and I notice straight away that the rears provide almost no sound.

If set at 11 on volume on CD, mve the mix to the rear, nothing, I have to pump the fvolume up to 25. If then you move the fader forward to notches, the fronts boom into life.

@Doesn'tExist, did you every get it resolved?

Thanks

Chris

I'm not tech minded or an audiophile, but the response (bass and high end) from the rear Speakers of my Gen 3 T-Spirit is dreadful. I've pushed the fader to just the front Speakers. I tried levelling the fader out (one notch off of full rear and turn the volume up) but it is as tinny as hell. Thankfully, I don't use the system that much.

As I recall it Doesn't was last seen on this forum about a year ago muttering something about buying Range Rover Evoque instead.

Thanks for the reply Opifex.

Shame he never came back with a resolution or if he just sent the system back.

As it happens, another colleague has a 61 plated 10th Anniversay and I've just sat in his and tried it out, at volume 22 and a poplualr cold play track, so I'll do the same test on my wifes and see what, if any difference there is.
