I live in a rural comunity about 1 hour south of Auckland NZ.Have owned our 1993 MK2 Groire for 12 years & it has done about 336000 kms.Been a great car nearly all problems my fault.Like to do as much work on it as possible. Change oil every 5000kms & filter 10,000.Had a turbo timer fitted early on & listening to people moaning about their short lived turbo diesels maybe if they had fitted a timer they may have got more life from their original engine.(just my opinion)Most trips are 30kms or more & as fast as possible. I think around town stop starting shortens engine life.Car handles the corrugations on the loose metal to our house better than our Isuzu 4wd.

Also breifly owned an immaculate early 1990s HiLux untill our son thoughtfully wrote it off.

Our MK2 is a none too common manual.
