Does anyone know if the Auris Hybrid Owners Handbook is available as a PDF file? I'd love to be reading through it while I wait for my car delivery.

Me too, I've tried to find it but couldn't.

Well nothing legitimate I'm afraid, (that I know of) but you can pay by the hour to download relevent info from:

THE TECH DOC WEBSITE

Thank you - you wouldn't believe how useful that link was! I'm trying to get my dealer to enable Automatic Door Locking on my Auris Hybrid (due next week) and I keep being told Toyota don't support that feature despite me having on my RAV4 and wife's Yaris T-Sport. I found (in the free section!) the manual for the vehicle's security system and in Section 2.3 on page 10 it clearly states it can be enabled.

Just waiting on a response from my Northampton-based dealer...

Cheers.

How is it possible to enable the auto door locking? Do I have to install Toyota's security system in advance to do that? Sounds like a nice function.

Well it is enabled on my Verso and I hate it with a passion!

I keep asking our workshop guys to programme it out but like any other job, you can never get anything done, I'm always at the back of the queue

Me too, I'd like that if you find out how.

I've had it on my last three cars and was surprised when it wasn't on my new Auris.

I'm assuming it's possible with the standard alarm system that comes with the Auris Hybrid. Here's the doco, have a read and tell me what you think, did you get a copy of this with your vehicle? It would need to be enabled by the Toyota service department.

I also like the passive arming at Section 2.4.

Thanks for that. No I didn't get that booklet with the car. There is a short reference to the alarm system in the main handbook, but it doesn't mention the automatic door locking feature.

What is in there is very similar to the doc you provided. There are a few subtle differences like the disarming of the volumetric sensor by repetedly flicking the door lock switch with the door open, on the Hybrid there is a specific button for this on the overhead console.

I'll definately ask at the dealer - maybe when they sort out my USB socket for my stereo :-)

On the USB issue, it seems somewhere along the line between July and September the Hybrid spec changed. Specifically, you lose the USB port on the T-Spirit if you order the Sat Nav Pack - the paper version of the Auris Hybrid brochure dated July 2010 says you get it; the September 2010 brochure says you don't; and current eBrochure on the Toyota website says you get it!

Just a tad confusing...

I'm going to be pushing to have the USB socket retrofitted, if just for the 5V feed to charge my iPod and iPhone...
