How To Undo Lambda Probe Connector On 2 Litre Carina E?

Hi,

I've only posted once before when my cambelt jumped. It's Non-inteference so had a new cambelt and it got to do a few more miles and one advanced driving test until now when I'm looking for advice again.

My catalytic converter has been blowing from that shroud by the lambda probe, just back from the front pipe for at least two years, going through 2 MoTs without it being an issue though I've gone through a tin of Gun Gum and most of a tub of Car Plan's black sticky Gun Gum equivalent. I asked a back street garage to weld it a couple of years ago but they said it would be difficult to weld it there, and looked at the rusty stumps of bolts that join the catalytic converter to the middle pipe. They advised due the difficulty and value of the car to just live with it.

Partially bcause of cost and partially because I want to have a go at working on the car myself I want to replace the catalytic converter.

Can someone explain how to disconnect the connector for the lambda probe lead please? I want to disconnect that lead that runs up from the lambda probe without breaking it. Which side do I need to depress, or use a screwdriver on as a lever to disconnect the lead from the lambda probe?

The rusty stumps and rusty join to the middle pipe look that bad I may drop the whole exhaust from the catalytic coverter back and separate the pipes away from the car. That would be a lot easier if I knew how to disconnect that connector.

Thank you in advance for any help.

The car may not be immaculate and may be 17 years old but there's no need for it sound like a banger. :)
