Open Door Indicator Problem

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I own a Carina GLi E 1997 and the open door indicator doesn't respond to the rear left door (when it's open). Has anyone any suggestion on how this could be fixed? I suppose there must be a faulty wire connection but how I can reveal the interrior of the door to check the wire??? Thanks in advance!

I have a similar problem on my Carina E with the same door.

When the door is open, the roof light don't respond. I must wriggle the little button near the rear seat to make it works.

Maybe the same problem for the open door indicator, I didn't try WD40 yet :D

We have the same problem indeed. There is a problem with the button. Is there any way to get it out to check it thoroughly? I don't see any screws etc...

Have you removed the rubber "plunger switch" cover ?

Many look like this (see pic) but sometimes the rubber covers where the screw is.

Hello again. I tried to remove the rubber thing and a nut revealed which, I guess, allows to remove the button behind it. Thanks for your help!
