Acquiring Starlet

Hi

I am being given a Toyota Starlet S reg (in UK so 1978 I guess). I don't know any other details about the car except that it is supposed to be in good condition and has done 29000 miles. It hasn't run for the last 12 months.

I have searched the web for info on these cars and came across this forum.

What is the situation regarding availabilty of spare parts in the UK? Any websites dealing with these? Is there an owners club in the UK?

I don't know what it needs yet (if anything) but it's best to be prepared.

Any advice on any weak points on this model would be gratefully recieved also.

Its RWD KP60 starlet. u've come across a nice yoke there, brilliant cars! weld the diff and Shell go well sideways!!

The main problems with those rwd starlets is the mounts for the anti !Removed! bars they are situated inside the back wheel arch i had one the body was mint but those mounts were ready to fall off parts aint easy but can be found very simple car to work on

give us a shout if you have problems and i have a haynes manual for them if ya want it
