Hi

I'm french owner of an Auris Executive 2010.

Is the procedure to shut up the alarm seat belt valide yet ?

Thank you for your answer

Kenitt

The seat belt alarm is one of the safety features fitted by Toyota to help the Auris obtain a good Euro NCAP safety rating.

Whyever would you wish to disable a safety feature?

I've scribbled this down from somewhere and it worked for me. Forgive me if it doesn't make 100% sense. But read it, follow it and it should work. Worked for me.............

1) Turn Ignition On and set you dash display to ODO

2) Turn Ignition Off

3) Turn Ignition On again within 5 seconds while pressing and holding Trip Reset Button

4) After 10 seconds Fasten Your Seatbelt. (Put belt buckle into slot)

5) The Display shows B-ON

6) Release The Trip and Press Again and The Display Shows B-OFF

7) Turn Ignition Off and Release Seat Belt.

4) After

Any way to switch that POINTLESS light off to say you can now sit an adult in a seat and its CONSTANTLY lit up?

Any other normal car just has it lit up when the airbag is switched off on the passenger side.....

Hello Kennitt and welcome to the forum!

Just follow the procedure described by wastedagen, it works.

I don't know any trick to disable that airbag light guys, but I've done it using more simple method. Removed the panel, opened it up and put some tape on the inside...

Thank you all for your answer.

I shall try the "wastedagen procedure"

Red Yaris, we are adult and a blinking light is enought to remember to fasten the seat belt.

My last car had only the blinking light and it was very good.

No need noise polution over this. And if i don't want fasten the seat belt, the bip will shut a few minutes after however so ..... find another argument to be so straight ..... lol

this is T's attention to detail. I guess the logic is that if the Airbag light was to fail, then there would be no Indication of the status of the airbag. By having the light on for both options you know that if there are no lights on at all, then the indicator is broken. As there are no other warning before the serious failure leads to a risk of serious injury, I think this is the driver for having an indicator for both.

You would not want to have a situation where you disable the airbag for a baby, the light does not work or fails, and you don't notice, (baby is safe as no airbag will deploy) then once you remove the baby seat and put a normal sized passenger on the seat you don't see the light and forget about re-setting the system. The only time you would realise there is a problem is once you needed that airbag, and at that point it would be a little too late.

Be glad that Toyota look after your wellbeing and that of your passengers, BETTER than competitors.

AND The SAME applies to SEATBELTS a blinking light is easy to ignore, buckle up Kennit!!!Alternatively hold on and after 30seconds or 1 minute it goes off...

good point, but any warning lamp can fail.i am concerned about the oil pressure light.the is no oil warning light that goes out when starting engine as is the usuel case ( mine is the optitron type )only lights up if when press is low, what if that light fails.with the normal type you at least test the light every time you turn on the ignition.

by the way have not heared back from norwich toyota about temp sensor yet.a bit disappointed as i was assured they would give answer.

I am sure that you know that if the oil pressure light goes on , 90% of the time it is already too late..

if there is no individual light (have to be honest i never noticed) then it is controlled by the centre screen display and it will give you a proper message warning. If this fails it will fail more likely for normal usage displays so you will notice this before you need the oil warning light.

hi

as it only displays when there is a fault it still a concern.

but saying that it would be easy enough to fit another oil warning light using pressure switch and a T piece.the switch could be purchased that operates a couple of psi higher than the fitted one for earlier warning.

problem is where to fit warning light in line of sight without drilling in dash.

hi again

on toyota tec site under fitting parking aids RHD it shows where you can drill in dash (15mm)to fit part of equipment

its just to the left of o/s cupholder well in line of sight.

Presumably you feel the need to drive without the seat belt?

Not really, I almost always wear it as it saved my life 10 years ago. I feel the need to keep my sanity! Beeping everytime I move the car in the garage or when I have things on the passenger's seat or all the time.

Sometimes it also goes crazy and beeps (for like 15 minutes) while the seatbelt is on!

'Sometimes it also goes crazy and beeps (for like 15 minutes) while the seatbelt is on!'

In that case it sounds like you have a fault with the system, and disabling the audible warning is just masking the problem.

I know, trouble is I can't replicate it when I want!
