Im looking at storing the engine out of my MK1 N/A. I might use the whole unit at some point or just use it for a source for spares.

My question is can anyone advise me on the best way to store it? I'm going to be putting it in a dry enviroment out of the weather so is it best to do a complete strip-down, bag & tag every component or leave it as one lump?

What about the oils/waters?

I've heard that the inside of the engine could rust or sezie? I don't plan to start it up every so often as its going to be stored in my shack at home, and my misses may get a bit peed about filling the house full of engine fumes!!

Thanks in advance

If you're going to store it, I would leave the oil in the engine. That way it shouldn't seize up.

scot would be the best one for that :)

strip and bag it and after drying keep it oiled with something like wd40 to keep it from rusting...
