Hi all.

Got back from France Saturday night and the Rav (52 reg D4D 57k) was surging a bit, foot on throttle and taking a bit of time to accelerate then taking off after a few seconds.

Sunday morning wont start. AA said no fuel getting through, trailered to garage.

They cannot find what the fault is, apparently no power getting to pump but when power is put to pump it still wont work!

Fuses ok, motor fires on easy start.

Any ideas?

Regards

Paul

I'd start with the obvious and change the fuel filter. I don't know what they're looking to achieve by putting power to the pump as that is just the SCVs.

Hi Anchorman

Thanks for reply.

Pardon my ignorance but does that mean that the suction control valves are the fuel pump?

They are fitted into it and control the pressure to the fuel rail. Have a read in the maintenance tips and you will find the instructions for checking those but while your in there look at that fuel filter first.
