2008 Yaris Sr Owners: How Hard Is Your Ride?

I've put a deposit on a 2008 Yaris SR, I did have a 2007 Yaris SR without the sports suspension and with 15" alloys instead of the 16" ones fitted to the 2008 model. I very much liked the smooth ride of my old Yaris and was wondering if you find the ride on the 2008 SR to be hard or jarring? I have not test driven a 2008 Yaris yet but will be doing so next week, I just thought I'd get some facts first as I might look for another 2007 model if I find the ride to be too bumpy.

Oh yeah, post pics if you have them too :)

Thanks!

I've had my '08 SR for just over 2 years now and yes the ride can be quite firm on it. You certainly know when the road surface isn't that great. Is it too firm? I'd say no. I still think that it's a fun car to drive.

I agree with Gav.

We have two 2008 SRs in the family and I think they're just great.

Yes the ride is a bit more "taught" than with the standard suspension and you have to slow down for speed humps more than you might with standard tyres & springs, but I prefer the way the car handles with the lowered springs and it also makes the car look soooooo much better with the wheels and tyres filling the wheel arches more than the standard model...

On the road, I don't think you're really notice the difference in ride - its only really over speed humps that you feel the difference with shallower sidewalls of the tyres...

We certainly wouldn't want to change ours....
