Glove Bag Fixing?

Recommended Posts

Posted

iQ newbie here. Just ordered iQ 1.0 auto. delivery TBC but hopefully 2-4 weeks. Took advantage of the 0% interest offer.

Question though... how does the Glove Bag fix to the car?

(Am not getting one via the dealer)

Thanks

We don't have the glove bag as such, rather the Toyota document pouch. It fits using press-studs. It's next to useless but if you want to store a single piece of paper then money can't buy a better storage pouch. (rolleyes).

Its the perfect place to store a small map... For those who don't have a GPS :)

There's a problem though. We were in France recently and spent a bit of time hopping from place to place with our luggage in the "boot". It was very visible from the front of the car. I'm pretty sure the french don't have problems in small towns but we did not want to take a chance so we threw the map we had messily over the seats as if to give the impression there was nothing of value in the car. From the front, all you could see was the map. As you can see, in this case we did not even need the document pouch!

Just bought one (the pouch) on eBay. Thanks for the advice (haven't got the car yet!)

Did you pay £90 for it? A couple of months ago the same seller now charging £90, had them listed for £78.

Got it for £51... used but unused... if you see what I mean.

Good work. I will keep an eye out, because I think it would be useful than not having one at all. It's a shame for the price we pay in the UK, especially the auto iQ3, that you don't get one included.

Word of warning. Although the pouch fixes by press studs, there is a velcro strip that holds it flush. we have found that the strip comes undone on a regular basis, leaving the pouch dangling by the press stud strip. If our dealer had not thrown the pouch in free to clinch the sale, we would have returned it for a refund.

As time goes by, I'm not really bothered about the Glove Bag any more.

Thanks - discovered the velcro strip! Dealer didn't throw bag in but we got good p/ex on an old Landcruiser and discount.
