I think an IQ looks better without those strips, however those strip can be handy to protect the side panel from careless people who always bang their door on other's ppl car when they open the door.

It happens all the time especially if you park at shopping mall with all the lady drivers and baby on board :(

It happens anywhere, anytime and by anybody. Fortunately, we've managed to keep our bodyword looking ok apart from the rear bumper scratch-!Removed!-dent caused by an inconsiderate git on his mobility scooter (some might remember that thread?). I'd like to have some door protection fitted as standard but I'm not convinced the ones in the photo are what I'd like fitted. Still, it's nice to know there is an option.

Well, I have been avoiding to park my car at some risky spot. Here I got some tips I to share...

1.) Find some stand alone parking if possible, or at least park next to a wall, so it cut the chance that someone bang on your door by 50%

2.) Park next to some luxary car, heart to heart... they are about as hurt when they slam their door on yours.

3.) Check the car who parked next to you and see if there is any chip mark on the edge of their door so you know whether or not ppl there are likely to hit yours.

4.) Avoid parking next to car who got child seat, those ppl often only focus on their baby and they always slam the door wide open when they try to fetch the baby.

It's like you've just summed up my general parking when in these places!!!!

I park in the parent and child space whenever I have my son with me, although it causes a few problems!!

I've had a couple of real stand up rows with people in our local retail park. The car is a company one, so is covered in company vinyl, but I still take my son out in it, so he sits in the back. When we've gone over to the retail park before, I've had people telling me I can't park in the space, even though the wife is with my son!! Apparently they will leave a white van alone as that's ok to park in a space, but my little iQ is a big issue!!

Well they were told in no uncertain terms to swivel!!

So advice to everyone, get a child = bigger space BUT not so much a quiet life!!.......
