Which Engine Do I Have?

Hi,

I own a 2006 Avensis Colour Collection with a 1.8 VVti engine with 36,000 miles on the clock.

To save a bit of money, I'd like to have a go at doing my own service, but can't seem to identify which engine type it is.

The options in the handbook are:

3ZZ-FE

1ZZ-FE

1AZ-FE

1AZ-FSE

2AZ-FSE

Also how do I know which type of spark plug to buy? The service schedule, says Iridium plugs are in the 1AZ-FSE only and these only need changing at

60,000 miles.

For #AZ-FSE engines, the plugs need changing at 40,000 miles - is this correct?

Finally, and thanks for reading this far, do I also need to replace the air filter?

Thank you

You've got the 1ZZ-FE.

The 1AZ-FSE is the 2.0.

If there's no record of the air filter being changed in the past, then I'd change it as they don't cost much. It's probably worth doing the spark plugs too.

Hi to both of you.

Thanks for your help. I went to Pentagon Toyota where i live and they sold me a "service package" of air filter, oil filter, 4X spark plugs, sump washer and 5litres of oil for £35.00. I thought that was good for genuine Toyota parts. It took a couple of hours for me to do the job, but it gave me a lot of satisfaction at knowing I had saved some money.
