Procedure At Temporary Stops

When temporarily stopped, for example at traffic lights that I know have a long hold time, I don't like sitting on the foot brake; both to avoid dazzling the driver behind and to avoid unnecessary brake pad wear. In order to stop forward creep is it better to put it into P or use the parking brake?

There's another thread on this a couple of weeks ago

Depending on the prospective time of the stop, either hold it on the footbrake or put it in P

However, others have other ideas. Basically whatever suits you....

Hi how can having your foot on the foot brake when stopped cause unnecessary brake pad wear as your not moving so no wear on any parts.
