I'm sure a lot of the bling will be dropped at launch to lower the price, after all, 99% of cars that get released in India end up looking a pile of !Removed! anyway :P

Tata Nano for example!?

Could you see someone making that look pretty?

The suspension is supposed to be similar to the Yaris. I would say that the Auris is too large to be the basis for the Etios - which is under four metres in length. Probably is a design that owes a lot to the Yaris, or possibly the Daihatsu Sirion.

Toyota own Daihatsu, and the original Yaris was designed by Daihatsu. Engines were used by both Toyota and Daihatsu - Yaris, Yaris Verso, Sirion, Terios, Copen. The Sirion has been shared with Perodua in Malaysia who produce their version as the Myvi, and also was produced as a Subaru - the Justy.

Looking at the Etios it is quite similar to the Sirion.

As regards cars produced in India - I think that the Hyundai i10, the Suzuki Alto/Nissan Pixo, and new Nissan Micra whilst not head turning, are on a par with some European cars (Citroen C2, Dacia Sandero, etc).

The Nano fulfills a need to provide cheap, basic four seater transport to replace motorbikes - below the level of cars like the Suzuki Maruti and Alto, Tata Indica, i10, Etios, etc.

Looks like a Yaris, the wheels are the same as on my Yaris and the boot looks identical inside.

ermmm you have to remember the tata nano was designed to achieve a low cost... and actually suits the india market perfectly, so it is an acomplished vehicle, for the market it was designed for ( the remit of this car was to move families of 4 from a motorbike to a safer mode of transport)

For europe we will get something very close to this...

you picked on a subject (TATA) on which I might know a few things about ...:lol:

it could well be a Yaris sized car, i seemed bigger, but it does make sense as the main segment in india is a B-segment (Suzuki Swift, Micra, etc...) well spotted

as for the chrome... asia countries like bling so it will probably stay... I have seen loads of chrome in indian cars...
