Problems With Verso - Please Help

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi,

I recently bought a 2006 160SX Verso and have had the problems below since

- Vehicle pulling really badly to the left,

- Difficulty with engaging reverse gear

The car has been back to the dealership a total of SIX times to have the problems above resolved but still they continue.

Reverse Gear:

According them the reverse gear problem has to do with "synch mesh" technology and when I battle with it, I try neutral, then into another gear and then reverse. I did this and as a result, my gears started squeaking. Each time the car wen back, I asked that they check the geabox fluid, lubrication and the teeth on the gears because trying reverse, I hear a grinding noise. It was NEVER checked not even at the last service when once again it was noted. The gears apparently needed lubrication. This was done it worked for a few days and now the grinding noise is back.

Car pulling to the left:

The alignment has been done each time the car is returned and on the last two returns there was no problem found. I had some buds of mine drive the car and they said it could be a problem with tie-rods, bushes, suspension or a problem with a dragging or stuck brake on the left side.

The car is once again back at the dealer to have these probs looked at. Anyone else know what else could be causing these problems?

Thanks for advice, comments.

Versos which pull to the left are a quite well known problem and has been mentioned on the forum before.

Solution ? I know a workmate had an improvment with his 57 plate Verso after changing the make of his front tyres.

The reverse trouble sounds as though it could be a clutch problem, is selection the same hot or cold ?
