Hi all new to this and really looking for some pointers.

My car has been having a problem for a while where it starts eventually after the starter motor and engine go through series of chugging noises.

Now it doesnt get past the chugging noises and doesnt start at all.

Neighbor got me a shot of a booster for Battery and all seems fine but doesnt seem to get any fuel to start. There is fuel in it.

I also get screeching in the mornings when steering and not sure if this is related.

Im thinking the next step is to get diagnostic test done on it but also looking for recommendations for good ones in Luton.

Sorry its all a bit vague.

Craig

I have a feeling the screeching is unrelated.

You say Battery is fine... but my limited experience - when Battery is low, the starter moter sounds like a clunk, but then it doesnt turn over, so check connections?

does it run ok once going?

someone mentioned it might be the glow plugs

Any one got any good instructions or videos on how to remove them and install?

Hi again, you should be ok as they were the fuel injection pipes you slackened ;), let us know if changing the glow plugs sorted the starting problem. Denso

replacements can be sourced through your local motor factor at around £20.00 - £25.00 each, Toyota dealers would be a lot more expensive :o .

Regards Pete.

hello CRAIG

the below are simple steps:

- change fuel filter + be sure you have escaped an air from fuel system + be sure you ve installed the filter insert and assembled filter correctly;

- charge / change your Battery (if you feel it is about to die);

- be sure both SCVs are in order (they are responsible to suct diesel into the pump);

- be sure all four glow plugs work fine;

- be sure all four injectors inject diesel but not pour it !!!

Cheers/Igor
