For the gear change I find it is best at very low revs and just feel the change from 1st to 2nd.

Okay - been trialling the very low rev gear change, and it definitely is the best gear change. Quite smooth and no clunk. You need to be quick doing it, and straight into 2nd and away - especially at junctions - but I think with a bit more practice I can finally enjoy driving my T180 fully :thumbsup:

Thanks for the info anchorman, I was beginning to worry that the rattle and transmission whine was an expensive problem waiting to pounce.
