Replacement Hu Connections To The Active Sub Woofer

Hi,

New owner here! Just got a 2005 VVTI with the premium and style pack, so it has the active sub woofer in the boot. I've just replaced the HU, which connected fine with ISO adapters, but the active sub can't connect as the HU only has phono connectors available on the back. Although the HU sounds fine it would be good to get the sub working.

Has anyone else fitted an aftermarket HU and found a way of connecting to the sub without cutting the wiring loom ie does a phono to wiring block adapter exist? If not and the looms has to be spliced, what is the wire decode for the sub.

Look forward to your help on this one.

Let me get this straight as I've never seen this setup.

The active sub is attached to the loom that the ISO connector attaches too?

If so then check with the ISO lead manufacturer, autoleads or whatever, as they may have a specific loom for your application. They did for my ST185 celica

GTForbes,

Thanks for responding.

No, the replacement HU doesn't have anything spare except the 2 phono\RCA sockets. It connects fine to the cars wiring loom thro an ISO adapter lead, but there are now 2 spare block connectors behind the dash which used to connect to the factory HU, I assume they connect to the subwoofer in the boot.

I haven't found any adapters for the subwoofer, so a wiring decode of the subwoofer would be useful.

Did you find a subwoofer adapter for your ST185?

I had to get a specific ISO loom for the car, not the normal Celica one. The loom manufacturer may have different variations of their loom to include the active sub
