Hi peeps,

signed up today i have a 2005 55 T2 2.0 d4d & a 2006 56 T4 2.2 d4d both are hatchbacks,

i could do with some advise re: gearbox on the 2005 55 T2 2.0 d4d 5 speed i was to have the clutch & flywheel changed and the mechanic noticed that the gearbox shaft is excessively worn my options are 1#,to have the gearbox reconditioned or 2#,to find a low milage geaerbox, if i don't go with 1# & 2# is hard to find then can anyone tell me does any other Toyota 2.0 d4d ie: Auris or Corolla share the same type gearbox that are/will be a direct fit? also can anyone tell me were the gearbox code can be found? there is a sticker on the gearbox but was faded all i could make out was F8 in the top LH corner.

any advise or help much appreciated cheers.

On the bottom of the VIN plate you will see the bottom line look something like

C/TR/A/TM it means, colour, trim, axle, transmission, what you are looking for is something like EA62, EA63, EA65 etc

Kingo
