Hi everybody,

I'm new to this site, and wondered if anybody could give me some help/advice.

I'm hopefully getting a 2007 Rav4 very soon, now the kind man at the garage said that he didn't have an 2.0 XTR in the colour we want but did have an 2.0 XT3 coming in very soon, (in the right colour).

My question is, what are the differences between an XTR and an XT3 other than air con instead of dual climate control.

Hope you can help

Many thanks

Dave

Hi Dave + welcome, not got time for a full reply, will get back tonight, though I am sure someone will answer you soon, The xt3 is the basic model, although it has somethings the xtr doesn't, and visa versa  Stew

Scroll down a bit and you get the trim of every model in ascending order.

n.b. There seem to be two XTR ranges listed (XTR and XT-R) so check the name/year/engine exactly.

A very comprehensive list but IMO confusing, The differences i know of between the 2007 xt3 + xtr, the xt3 came with a spare wheel + roofrails, however it did not have fog lights, traction control, multiple cd, foglights, climate control, not sure if I've missed anything but those are the main differences, with that in mind the xt3 should be a bit cheaper than the xtr, hope this helps, none of the above are absolutely neccesary, but the traction control is certainly reassuring IMO..Stew

Good summary LH. I'd also add that XT3 misses out on a sunroof and gains a rather nasty looking (IMO) plastic steering wheel with no stereo controls. XTR also gets tinted-out back windows. I'd _definitely_ want a discount if I was settling for an XT3. XTR is a lot better spec.

HTH.

Thanks for all your help,

I will inform the nice man at the garage that the XTR is the preferred car, trying to palm me off with a lesser model !!

I've just bought an XTR (57 plate) and all those little differences make the car. Tip: when we ran out out of negotiations on price, I managed to get them to chuck in rubber mats all round (Inc boot).
