D4D Lack Of Power When Cold

HI

My X reg D4D Avensis has started to play up during the recent cold mornings,when driving under load the engine will hold back as though it is not getting enough fuel then after a few seconds it will kick in & perform as normal. It starts & ticks over ok & i only have this problem when the outside air temp drops to around 3 deg above this i have no problems. once the car warmes up it is fine, there are no lights coming on or unusual smoke from the exhaust
