03- Tourer, Passenger Door Locked Shut

Hi all, first things are first.

This is my brother in laws car which is giving some grief, its either going to be traded in or I may be tempted with it myself if the problem can be solved.

The main problem is the the front passenger door is locked shut. Won't open off the plip and cannot be unlocked from inside. As far as I'm aware the others are performing normally although he did mention it seemed another was playing up - I'll get clarification later.

UPDATE: occasionally the drivers door won't lock/unlock by the remote while the rest still function.

Can anyone shed a light on this?

No suggestions? Is it deadlocked? Can it be broken into? Don't think the door panel will come off while shut?
