Intermittant Engine Managiment Light

Hi can anyone help me please i have a Toyota Previa 2.0d and intermittantly the engine managiment light comes on and restricts power, but when you pull over and switch the ignition offf and then onn again all is ok i have taken it to toyota and have been told that until it happens to them thay cant do anything i am scarred of driveing the previa as i have to do long distances and am worred this will happen can you help please

Sorry you haven't had a reply. I know nothing about that engine...but have a look at other sections like the RAV4 section where they have many posts and loads of info on the diesel engine and faults.

There is a long thread already about this MIL on this forum from what I remember. In most cases it is being caused by an oxygen sensor.

I had this as well last winter and I got one sensor replaced and I have no problems since.
