Economy-meter Always Red

Hello!

I have just bought a 91 Corolla with one anoying problem...

The Economy-meter (or whatever the correct name is) is always red.

Anybody know the soulution to this big problem?

(I have checked the fuse)

Check the vacuum hose going to the Econ. switch (mounted on the bulkhead)for any signs of splits/cuts.

Check the wiring harness to the switch for signs of corrosion on the terminals.

OR YOU CAN TAKE THE BULB OUT OF THE DASH !!!!

On UK spec.vehicles - open the bonnet and it should be located to the right hand side of the Clutch Master Cylinder - small black plastic sensor held onto the bulkhead/firewall by a M6 set screw.

On non-UK spec.vehicles,I guess it would be a mirror image of our's - Left hand side of the Master Cyl.
