No il have a look someone heard it and said it was the cat is the heat shield easily accesable?

Yes , just look underneath. The bolts rust and it eventually falls off (or mine did). If it is the cat I posted a cutting from a paper that listed an online site. Think it was about £200 which is much cheaper than Mr T. Try a search , it was in a thread about P0420 code (not the current one)

growing market for scrap cat convertors so don't throw it away - it can be sold to a scrap metal merchant.

R they ur normal scrap dealers? Wher ud take ur copper n lead?

They will usually take them though there are companies who specialise. Worth shopping around for a price.

Last time I had one to dispose of it was between £30 and £80 depending on type and size :thumbsup:

Don't be offended but the club rules do not allow text speak :thumbsup:

Try and avoid it if you can!

yur cattylictic convertor is wurth a few guid quids so phone aboot as wur pal says. In the UK there are fewer scrap metal dealers - wot I mean is that there are just as many yards but fewer companies as they all get bought up. In this area, its not unknown for used cats (converters rather than the pussy variety) to be stolen from garages.

Given that copper is selling for £5000 a ton; aluminium for £600+ a ton and tin for thousands, you should also be thinking of scrapping the car for the valuable metals!!!! Even bog standard mild steel is getting £150+ a ton. cast iron more again. Please don't take a fence at what ancs says - a fair few people here have yet to discover mobile phones, far less 'text' speak. :D

Yeah - very good.

I don't make the rules but I am expected to uphold them. Don't make things awkward for me guys.

This is Les's words in the general section;

"Any posts with a “Specific” subject that either drift off topic with unnecessary replies or comments, will either have the offending post removed or the topic will be closed, as will any that have content deliberately made unintelligible by text speak or other form of gobbledygook.

Should anyone find this not to their liking then they are more than welcome to join that fantasy forum that’s out there somewhere."
