Ecu Replacement

Hi,

My Toyota Avensis 2003 T4 didn't start so went to a local garage. After investigation, they think it would be ECU problem. Also, they said only Toyota service can fix it. I contacted the Toyota service and they said $$$$. even charge me for investigation.

I wonder if there is alternative option to check my ECU and replace it if needed.

Thanks all.

I'd make absolutely sure it is the ECU first.

I had at least one garage say ECU and it turned out to be the crank shaft sensor (well I replaced it and it worked).

It's not a cheap option as the ECU is keyed to the car.

IF it is though I know at least one person who has used ECU Doctor on the internet but not for Toyota.

All the best.
