Steering Wheel Dropping To The Left At Crawling Speed

please can anybody else tell me if there steering is the same as mine ?

ive just had the steering rack replaced under warranty, and noticed tonight that when i was crawling at say 5 mph and i let go of the steering wheel it was sometimes dropping 2-3 inches to the left of dead centre quickly.it dosnt pull to either side at speeds above that when letting go of the wheel, only at crawling speeds sometimes.could it just be the speed sensitive powering steering lightning up, or do you think the steering geometry or whatever its called is now not right after replacing the steering rack ? any advice please ?

was infact steering column replaced ,not steering rack, because of clicking noise, and now think wheel dropping to one side is just the camber of the road, had that many problems am now getting paranoid there something wrong everytime i get in the car !

Tracking/toe-in a bit off maybe?

They never get it right when they replace anything to do with the steering.

I remember when some Ford mechanics replaced a suspension arm on my old hated Fiesta; They obviously didn't center the wheel properly because driving in a straight line, the steering wheel was turned 30 degrees to the left!!

If this has only appeared since the work was done then it suggests a problem somewhere. Try it on a perfectly level good surface, a car park maybe.

i went back to the dealers this morning and a tech came out with me and said changing a steering column wouldnt involve doing anything that could mess up the steering alignment , but did agree that it wasnt right,

he said it was almost as if there was a weight on one side of the steering and pulling it down, they are doing a 4 wheel alignment next wednesday to see if they can find the problem.

had the car since june and its been in the main dealer that many times ive only washed it twice ! theve cleaned it about 8 times for me ! give me my nissan back please ! them were the days of trouble free motoring :crybaby:

My steering went in fine, had the column changed, it came out a bit wonky, they realigned mine and it was fine?
