Tranmission Fluid Change - How?

Hi,

I don't have a Chiltons manual and need to change the transmission fluid.

Can someone tell me where the drain and filler plugs are, and how much of the fluid will actually drain out. I think I need about 2.3ltr to fill it back up, but how can I tell how much is left in it? ( Other than measuring what has come out )

I don't want to flush the box just yet as I am having some gearbox problems and don't want to risk disturbing anything inside.

Cheers, DJC.

The drain plug is on the gearbox end (wheel end) at the bottom, you should spot it easily enough its like a sump plug. The filler/level plug is the same size and its on the front face of the gearbox near the engine. Make sure you can undo the level/filler plug before you undo the drain otherwise it could be embarrasing. Cant help with how much you need but you pour it into the filler hole till it starts to overflow(make sure the car is sitting level). According to the haynes manual you should change the gearbox oil every 30,000 miles or every 2 years.
