Had the Rav tested a couple of weeks ago at our local Mr T's they've always seemed fair and have a permanent test for £27 offer on.Got a phone call to say it's passed but as advice they wanted to let me know there is corrosion on the brake pipes and it may fail next year on this.Did i want them to treat it for £44 or replace them for something like £400.I said no i'll get a tin of Waxoyle and do it myself.Got it up in the air yesterday with all me mucky gear on to do it and the pipes look like new, nice and black no sign of any rust at all .............

On that age, check things like the flexi-hoses on the front. And then any metal pipes that are exposed to road muck; the pipes along from front to back and on the back end.

I guess an MOT tester would look suspiciously at brake pipes coated in black underseal - waxoyl type products maybe less so.

Yes will do but they're not covered in anything but the black paint from the factory at the moment, ran my fingers along the flexibles they all seemed fine.
