Winnebago + Toyota Iq

Whilst out + about the other evening I saw a huge winnebago type American motor home with a little IQ closely coupled behind, it had a "Towcar" sticker in its back window + all 4 wheels were on the road, what i thought was clever was when the Winnebago, braked + indicated the little IQ did the same, and i just wondered whilst it is being towed would its mileometer be clocking up miles? If so, in theory it could have clocked up 10,000mls.. with its engine only having done a couple of hundred, alternately if it isn't clocking up miles, then a future owner could buy a very low mileage IQ not realising the running gear, wheels tyres, wheelbearings, etc have done 20 or more times its shown mileage, not to mention that the poor thing has spent most of its life being splattered with all that the Winnebago's twin rear wheels could throw at it, any theories?
