Rav4 Softroading

I was up at the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park (near Aberfoyle in Scotland) today - stunning Autumn scenery in the sunshine B) .

There's a 7.5 mile "softroad" forest drive trail around the forest and lochs there - but it's just closed for end of season this year:

(1) 3 Lochs Forest Drive

(2) 3 Lochs Forest Drive

But I thought it might be worthwile collecting other RAVers experience of softroading. If anyone knows of a scenic route or softroad drive which might be worth a visit, add it to this topic?

The M74 south at J5 was scenic today.

Other routes.....Crail raceway after 1/2 mile when the only way is SPLASH!

Here is one I've been using since the 70's and long before it became a tourist attraction. We used to use it on the Jim Clark Rally as an access road for the team I was with. Now it's just for a pleasant Sunday summer day out and a picnic by the reservoir.

It's a £3.00 toll and you are restricted to 20 mph. I've seen far higher speeds when it's quiet.
