Hi Lads and Lassies,

As well as the wee radiator blingy thingy reported (and slagged for ), here's a note of other bits done.

1. When I picked it up in Manchester a few mumphs ago, and drove it to Glasgow, I found the roadnoise, put politely, very evident. It was shorn with Pirelli Scorpions (235 / 55 / 17). Long story short, it is now wearing Bridgestone Turanzas, but I changed size almost inadvertently to 60 profiles due to ease of availability on eBay. Result....."haw, big man, ma moatir goes over thame traffic bumps a lot quieter noo...." If my mother in law's daughter notices an improvement, that means it's not imaginary. Road noise also dramatically reduced, and the Scorpions really do "feel" like a much harder compound to compress with my fingers....."pants" said Anchorman on a recent visit.

2. I noticed the Battery very readily went flat within a few minutes of leaving the ignition on, with no actual accessories on or running. This was the weekend that Anchorman was up, so we investigated....lo and beholdify, it was a Battery the size of a Suzuki motorbike. A quick investigation by Anchs revealed his confidence that a full size Battery would fit. Being late pm on a Saturday, we could only acquire said arrapatus at one place....Halfrauds, and Wild Bothy's could never drag out of me what they charged me for a battery. Suffice to say IT HAS A THREE YEAR GUARANTEE...if it passes wind, it goes back!

Now starts without my getting the key fully turned....THAT DAFT WEE SHAVER BATTERY WOULD NOT HAVE SEEN ANURRA WINTER OUT.

3. Last but not least, it had a thorough oil change / gearbox oil change / rear diff and tranny box checked out, brakes bled and safety check AT BOTHY'S FAVOURITE GARAGE, who were superb. One last story to be told anurra time, re Anchs begging me to let him clean my EGR Valve....watch this space.
