Condensation

Hi all, found another slight prob with my 06 Avensis. The tailgate glass suffers quite badly with condensation overnight. I get up to it being dripping wet on the inside. Removed all mats and spare wheel etc to see if there was any water ingress, none found and mats are dry. Has anyone else suffered the same prob on this model, ie a faulty or badly fitting seal somewhere. Thanks in advance for any advise.

Maybe it's just heavy condensation due to the warm moist air in the car condensing because of the very cold air outside falling onto the glass. Both our Toyota and Mitsubishi have the same problem at times, maybe we should try turning the heater off a couple of miles before parking up for the night.

Pete.

Hello, I am suffering the same thing but with the windscreen. Was told by a good mechanic friend of mine, that most brands of cars suffer with this problem now, due to "poor ventilation" and the advice was to leave the dash vents open, but I don't think this made much difference really.

Thank goodness for aircon is all I can say, because I wouldn't be able to see through the sceen in these "modern" cars otherwise

Most of the cars in our street have far worse condensation then either of the 2 toyotas in our house (avensis/auris). I do a lot of outdoor stuff/water sports etc so often have damp/wet gear in my car and I find condsation is worse when its been a whiles since cleaning the inside of the windows.

IN fact ive not cleaned my windows since august and the condesation is starting to get anoying, but normally with recently cleaned windows i only get condesation when ive got 4/5 wet or damp people in the car on a cold day.

Water vapour needs a cold point to condense on hence geting dew on grass first, and a dirt on a window provides those points. So a cleaner window should have less condensation. Also worth checking the air vent to the car isnt blocked and that the airfilter of the cabin insnt blocked/driping wet.
