Just bought a 2006 RAV 4 T180 a few days ago and still getting familiar with it,a couple of things I've noticed some of the switches dont light up and am just wondering if this is how all Ravs are or is there something wrong with mine .The window switches on the drivers door the only switch that lights up is the drivers window were it says auto the other 3 switches dont light up nor does the window switch on the passenger door. Also the electric mirror switch doesnt light up and there isnt a light in the glove box . Can someone enlighten me on these. :ffs:

All correct.

Amazing penny pinching on a 20K+ car. Not something I bothered to check when I bought mine.

Annoyingly my daughters recently purchased 7 year old Ford KA has all those features.

Yes - they don't work because MrT hasn't fitted them. It is something we have debated but even on the newer models thay haven't caught up. The fact that EVERYTHING lights up in a Honda CRV is a constant irritant to us!

I am once again going to set myself into the dumbass female category (making a habit of that) but I've never ever noticed that some of the switches don't light up and I've had my T180 for just over 2 years! I think I need to pay more attention :rolleyes:

Thanks for the quick replies guys maybe I've been spoilt with my VW Golf which I sold to buy my T180 and may I comment what a machine it is ,Its my first Toyota and my first 4x4 and I love it the only problem I have with it is the reversing sensors are constantly beeping when you engage reverse ,hopefully I'll get this sorted.Drove it 170 miles to bring it home did 70ish all the way home and it did 36mpg which I'm happy with considering its size .As soon as I saw it in the showroom I had bought it in my head without even trying it just hope it proves to be reliable for me :)

VWs have particularly good switch lighting and look quite nice in blue. However, a lot of the parts in the Toyota parts bin are common and that means thing that trawl through the desert and jungle - nothing fancy, they just need to work. They are starting to respond by making things "glossy" in various models but for now you have got switches you will find have been reliable in 10 year old 4WDs in the most inhospitable places in the world!

Toyotas are statistically much more reliable than VWs.
