We've had our 92 Toyota Paseo (it's standard) for about a year now.. We've had a few problems here and there but all in all it has been a great car! But the other day it seems to be running weird.. When it idles it seems to drop and it feels like it is going to die? When your going it does it still but it just feels sluggish? Not sure what I need to look at or what the problem might be? Unfortunately when it comes to vehicles I know nothing.. If anyone has any suggestions I am all ears!! Thanks!!

There could be lot of things. It is difficult to say with this little information. When was the last service done? How long has the car run? Did this fault come after you have done anything with the car? Do you have any warning lights on the dashboard lit (check engine light)?

I would have a look at these things if I was you.

air filter

fuelfilter

vaccuum hoses

spark plugs

ignition system

fuel pressure (fuel pump)

compression test

The last thing we fixed was the drive shaft about a month ago, also just changed the oil about a week ago.. Everything was running fine and all of a sudden it started this.. There aren't any lights on the dashboard.. We're going to look at the hoses and transmission fluids tomorrow to make sure that isn't the problem.. Also I've been pricing fuel filters and pumps just in case.. Sorry for the little information but I am clueless lol.. I've never posted on a site about anything like this so I wasn't too sure on what to write exactly.. Thank you!! :)

We changed the air filter, spark plugs, the pvc valve, and still being cranky... :o( Going to test the fuel filter but a few people say that it probably won't be the problem, but I am hoping it is! I've put about 70+ dollars in gas in the past like 4 days! It's getting ridiculous!

Is it using lot of fuel? Did you drive far on those $ 70 of petrol?

Have you checked the ignition timing? That is one easy thing to check on the ignition system.
