Is there a simple way of installing an automatic boot light in a 2003 CDX

It's unbelievable that one isn't fitted as standard, especially on a top of the range model

They only fitted 'em with the facelift models. It may be possible though to get one out of a scrapper or buy the light from Toyota and wire it up to the interior light in the roof!

You could try and find a "tilt switch" that closes when the switch tilts, fit that into the rear hatch and wire up a n accesory 12v light so that it operated via that switch - but I'd actually be tempted to buy one of those "pop on/pop off" led cupboard lights and just stich it to the side of the boot so that you could easily and manually just tap it to turn it on when you needed it and turn it off when you'd finished with it.

It may be that you could also find some "automatic" cupboard door operated Battery LED light that you could fit in a place that was triggered by the opening of the hatch....
